Dementia affected us personally when, at the age of 80, our beloved Grandpa Ivan was diagnosed with Alzhiemers. This diagnosis devastated our family, especially as we watched Grandpa be slowly taken from us by this terrible disease. Our mother Julia became his primary caregiver, bringing together the entire family, to give him the best care he could have received. She cared for her father tirelessly, day and night to keep him safe, comfortable and loved. When Grandpa was in hospice, she would do anything that would put a smile on his face. Her deep act of selfless care for her dad has fundamentally impacted and inspired the entire family to carry her legacy.
Rosewood is owned and operated by three brothers, Andrey, Stan, and Alex. Along with the help of their father and the entire family, they have worked hard to create a home-like space that provides a safe harbor for people with dementia. Their goal was to create an environment where residents can find comfort and loving care. Rosewood is built on and driven by our family values of excellence, family, serving, hospitality and cleanliness. We place great importance in honoring and respecting each person who becomes a part of our family.
“Caring for people is my passion. Whether it’s at home or at the hospital, or anywhere else, I find joy in providing genuine care for people. My experience with our mom providing care for my grandfather with dementia, and having taken care of over 5,000 patients, has shaped me for my current role as administrator of Rosewood. My ultimate goal is to create a world where people with dementia and their families experience happiness.”
